The Vice President, Servicing Accounting is responsible for managing the Cashiering, Investor Reporting and Bank Reconciliation processes within the Servicing Operations and ensures that the activities are in compliance with applicable policies and procedures, regulatory guidelines and contracts.

Management of Cashiering Department:

• Manage the process for payment processing, payoffs, cash disbursement, suspense management, invoice management and other items as assigned.
• Manage processes to reconcile daily batch processing for cash

Management of Investor Reporting Department:

• Manage the process to prepare monthly reporting and remittance to all investors
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies noted during the reporting process in a timely manner
• Implement policies and procedures related to the investor reporting process
• Implement and manage processes to properly calculate and report any Servicing Fees to the investors
• Manage the process for the identification and setup of investors as needed for new investors boarded and de-boarded

Management of Reconciliations Department:

• Responsible for managing the process in accordance with applicable policies and regulatory guidelines for:
• The timely preparation of all required daily reconciliations including the payment clearing account
• The timely preparation of all required monthly reconciliations including custodial T&I and P&I accounts
• Responsible for implementing processes to ensure the timely clearance of all reconciling items in the reconciliation process
• Responsible for implementing controls and appropriate policies to ensure completeness, timeliness and accuracy of the reconciliation process

Additional Duties:

• Work with the Corporate accounting team to provide information for the proper accounting of Company data
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and work to implement and automate processes where possible
• Communicate and work with servicing operations personnel where necessary
• Prepare weekly and monthly management reports including KPIs
• Work on special projects as assigned by the CFO

Supervisory Responsibility:

Responsible for managing the Servicing Accounting departments – Cashiering, Investor Reporting and Bank Reconciliations

Physical Demands:

This is largely a sedentary role, with filing requirements that would entail the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, bend, stand, and stoop. May be required to lift supplies and files.

Travel:

On occasion (conferences, headquarters)

Expected Hours:

Full time position with regular office hours Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 to 5:00 weekends on occasion as needed, with flexibility on start and end times allowed. The employee must be available during the core hours and will work a 9- hour day, with one- hour breaks/lunch.

Education/Experience:

• 5-10 years of experience in Loan Servicing
• Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Detail-oriented with superior organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of the mortgage industry or a closely related finance sector
• Knowledge of MSP loan servicing system
• Self-starter; takes initiative within role and responsibilities
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent technology skills and ability to use with Office Suite (including Excel and Access
• Proactive in identifying ways to improve service and support
• Ability to be a team player by working closely with SVP and loan processing staff

Other: Preferred Education/Experience:

Associate’s degree or higher or comparable experience
