The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. We are currently seeking a Senior Education Specialist, AHE for our downtown Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).
Starting base salary = $74,000 – $92,000 a year (commensurate with related experience).
The Senior Education Specialist supports the Education Director in providing development, execution and evaluation of assigned education programs for the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE), a professional membership group of the American Hospital Association (AHA). This position develops and plans the educational content across assigned platforms including the annual conference, online programs, and webinars. This position supports the Director to ensure content is in alignment with AHE’s strategic plan. This position also provides volunteer and consultant leadership to implement education plans, ensuring content aligns with member data and needs.
- Supports Education Director in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned portfolio of AHE’s educational programs.
- Ensures educational programs and products address specific topics and needs in alignment with AHE’s strategic plan, member feedback and input from volunteer leaders and the AHE team.
- Independently, or with volunteers and consultants, creates content using instructional design knowledge and best practices applicable for adult learners. Works in collaboration with Education Director to develop the annual content calendar for AHE education.
- Independently designs and launches course assessments and surveys; provides monthly reports detailing satisfaction rates and net promoter scores.
- Manages, recruits and trains faculty/presenters in the development and delivery of educational programs. Manages contracts, payments and database of faculty and presenters.
- Independently oversees AHE’s learning management system(s). Develops and delivers all technical aspects of live online and on demand courses. Edits media including webinar and podcast recordings.
- Collaborates with AHA’s centralized marketing and communication team members to promote educational programs and develop and meet marketing timelines.
- Supports education components of the Annual Conference including but not limited to: assisting with the planning and execution of pre-conference, general and concurrent sessions, speaker management and AV.
- Builds and maintains relationships with AHE team members, committee members, vendors, and AHE’s thought leaders and content experts.
- Responsible for collaborating with Smith-Bucklin team members to track, deliver, post, assess, and provide registration reports on all sponsored education programs.
- Provides monthly financial assumptions and reports, including forecasts, spreads etc. for budgeting process, specific to assigned budgeted programs. Responsible for ongoing management and assessment of needed resources, contracts and makes resource allocation requests and recommendations to the Director.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education
Preferred
Bachelors or better in Education or related field.
Experience
Preferred
5-7 years: Minimum 5 years of experience in adult education, online learning, curriculum development and program evaluation. Faculty and volunteer management experience preferred. Experience within an association is preferred. Health care industry experience preferred.
