The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. We are currently seeking an Education Specialist, ASHRM for our downtown Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).


Starting base salary = $51,000 – $63,000 a year (commensurate with related experience).

The Education Specialist supports the Director, ASHRM Education in assisting with development, maintenance, execution and evaluation of assigned education programs for the American Society for Health Care Risk Management (ASHRM). This position assists with educational content across assigned platforms including the annual conference, podcasts, and webinars. This position supports the Director, ASHRM Education to ensure content is in alignment with ASHRM’s strategic plan and member data and needs.

  • Evaluates educational programming, which includes analyzing and preparing reports that measure education metrics. Makes improvements to existing systems and programming and recommends new programming.
  • Participates in the maintenance of ANCC documentation for ASHRM education.
  • Creates educational programs in collaboration with subject matter experts and team. Manages faculty for the live education programs, virtual events, webinars, and podcasts.
  • Manages the ASHRM podcast and webinar programs. Acts as lead staff for the webinar platform. Collects required materials from speakers and works with colleagues to increase development of content for ASHRM.
  • Organize and manage the communication and process with marketing for new and existing programs to ensure accuracy information, reporting, deadlines, pricing and registration.
  • Manages education components of the Annual Conference including but not limited to: assisting with the planning and execution of pre-conference, general and concurrent sessions, speaker management and AV.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with team members, committee members, vendors, and ASHRM’s thought leaders and content experts.
  • Keep abreast of instructional design trends, technologies and best practices.
  • This position requires excellent organizational, communication and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, and the attention to detail to ensure that information sent to faculty, speakers, members, attendees and staff is accurate and timely.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Preferred

Bachelors or better in Education or related field.

Experience

Preferred

3-5 years: • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting education operations. • Experience within an association is preferred. • Health care industry experience preferred.
