Agriculture and Fisheries Hiring for Manager Data and Analytics Job at Australia Full Time

• Manage a team of data analysts in the development and delivery of data management and data analytics to support DAFs industry intelligence function with a focus on customer needs, collaboration, efficiency and mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the analytics function and manage data analytics services to deliver digital applications and solutions aligned to the organisation’s strategic objectives to inform policy and decision making.
• Promote a data driven culture within the organisation and advance data analytics capabilities working with staff across all levels, including Agriculture business group senior leadership.
• Lead cross-disciplinary teams to undertake complex analysis activities for both the benefit of both internal and external clients, using contemporary modelling, analysis techniques, tools and standards to inform sound business decisions and data sharing outcomes.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of new cloud based data models and data warehouses with a focus on automation, scalability and data security and integrity.
• Lead the development and implementation of end-to-end data pipelines for analytics using multiple and varied data sources on Azure cloud platform.
• Design and implement best practice data governance systems and procedures to ensure data integrity and security.
• Provide informed strategic advice and insights based on data and statistical analysis, and visualise these through business intelligence tools to engage with executives and non-technical audiences.
• Oversee the defining, scoping and planning of data analytics projects to meet business requirements, quantifying risks and building integrations between key business systems.
• Lead a team to build a positive workplace culture to encourage inclusiveness, health and well-being, ethical behaviour, to foster innovation and building positive performance teams.

What you will bring – Essential requirements

• Demonstrated experience applying modelling, analysis tools and standards within the sphere of business intelligence and data analytics endeavours.
• Experience in linking complex data sets together and supporting the creation of data sharing platforms, warehouses and data lakes.
• Experience with Power BI, basic grasp of DAX and M code.
• Experience using Python or SQL programming languages.
• Demonstrated experience in leading effective teams supporting business users, preferably in an environment supporting multiple technologies (including SAP, Microsoft and cloud based applications.)
• Ability to prepare and present insightful data analytics finding and visualisations to non-technical audiences.
• Experience in managing relationships and expectations of a diverse range of stakeholders. You may also have
• Experience working with cloud platforms, Microsoft Azure is preferable.
• Experience and knowledge of Agile Project Management Methodologies
• Experience using PySpark or Scala.
• Experience using Atlassian work management software.
