Agricultural Appointments Hiring for Retail Branch Manager / Agronomist at Western Downs, Queensland, Australia Full Time

Transfer your skills in large retail stores, ag retail, or agribusiness to work for a well-establish retailer that values your input and your ability to build long-term relationships.

Our client is an independently owned multi-site provider of a full range of rural services and supplies including animal health, crop protection, seed, fertiliser, and general merchandise to the agricultural sector.

The position is deal for an independent self-starter who enjoys running their own business. With 100% backing of the owners you will have the ability to expand the business, but most importantly we are looking for someone who can service the current client base ‘to the hilt’ by continuing the culture of being competitive, progressive, but above all providing high quality technical advice and support.

Ideally having a retail, merchandise or agronomic background but a desire to be in management would be of high value but we are happy to receive applications from other levels of ag retail or ag supply backgrounds who want less layers of management, to travel less and be empowered more.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading, mentoring and empowering the Branch team
• Maintain and promote good relationships with suppliers and customers
• Perform, develop and execute sales strategies
• Develop profitable relationships, negotiate and close sales with new and existing customers
• Directing, coordinating and monitoring sales, gross profit and customer relationships
• Execution of procurement strategy, managing and controlling inventory
• Creating a safe, happy, healthy work environment ensuring compliance with all requirements

Key Requirements

• Min. 3 years’ experience in a similar retail position or as a Merchandise Manager or agronomist
• Practical experience / track record in the agricultural sector in a sales focussed role an advantage
• Demonstrated ability to manage a retail merchandise business increasing sales, profitability and customer satisfaction
• Highly developed analytical and planning skills
• Working knowledge of invoicing, stock control and computer skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capacity to develop relationships
• Strong people management, team leadership and influencing skills
• Hands on approach, enthusiastic, positive and willing to get involved
• Capacity to build positive networks and contacts within the community

Location and Remuneration

• Competitive base salary + super + fully maintained vehicle + other incentives
• Western Downs, QLD
