Position Summary

ing to the Director of Account Management, the Account Manager develops relationships with smaller to mid-sized clients in order to increase revenue by selling commodity and specialty produce (potatoes, onions) within the wholesale, retail and food service channels of the market. The Account Manager pursues relationships with new accounts and seeks expansion opportunities with current accounts using detailed knowledge of product lines ensuring products/services consistently meet customer’s needs. May also support the Director of Account Management on larger accounts/special projects to further develop knowledge & skills for future advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
• 2 years of sales, customer service or account management experience, preferably in related field

Accountabilities

• • Executes daily, seasonal, and annual business plans with retail and wholesale accounts by coordinating with Director of Account Management
  • Visits with customers virtually and in person to ensure satisfaction, coordinate projects, introduce product lines, and build relationships
  • Achieves established business targets – volume (cwt), margin and product distribution
  • Executes pricing strategies that meet or exceed budget commitments with accounts — based on sales targets, competitive environment, seasonal supply and market demand
  • Updates customers on market conditions, pricing, product quality, demand, supply, delivery schedules, etc.
  • Resolves delivery, supply, invoicing and rejection issues which could affect financials and growth
  • Manages pricing and inventories for highest return to grower, monitoring sales through final payment
  • Conducts in-person business reviews with existing accounts
  • Ensures all accounts have a satisfactory completion of orders and prompt follow-up while maintaining highest level of account satisfaction
  • Works with production on inventory issues and provides logistics and production personnel with information needed to get loads packed and shipped in a timely matter and consistent with customer expectations
  • Establishes procedures per account for order processing & tracking and monitors as needed
  • Oversees customer portal management, taking ownership of portal challenges/issues while troubleshooting, advising and resolving issues
  • Establishes A/R protocol per customer account and directs Customer Service how to monitor, submit claims and status on A/R at it pertains to each account
  • Intercedes with buyers or produce directors when escalated from the Customer Experience Coordinator to negotiate resolution on past due invoices and s any disputes that are at an impasse to the Director of Account Management
  • Provides Sales Quotes and participates in Requests for Proposals coordinating with the Director of Account Management
  • Establishes plans/processes for servicing the program after contract is awarded
  • Collaborates with Category Management to identify opportunities with customers
  • Prepares promotional plans and pricing strategies for assigned customers
  • Ensures adequate product supply to fulfill customer orders in conjunction with the sourcing and grower relations team

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and use hands to type using a computer or lift office supplies up to 10 pounds. Must have close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data.
