AgReserves, Inc Hiring for Senior Accountant Job at Panama City, FL Full Time

AgReserves, Inc is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Central Ranches finance team. The Sr. Accountant supports the local Controller and Leadership team by assisting with the oversight of the accounting functions, performing financial analysis and enforcing internal controls in accordance with internal policies and procedures for the farm operations. This position can be based at one of our farm offices in Pawhuska, OK, Prairie Hill, TX, Satanta, KS, or Wewahitchka, FL.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise Accounting Staff and manage their professional development.
• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
• Prepare journal entries and conduct reconciliations of the production system inventory, balance sheet accounts, as needed and for company mandated deadlines.
• Prepare and provide general ledger reporting and analysis to ensure accounts are properly stated.
• Ensure that accounting records are accurate and complete with ledgers closed in a timely manner.
• Create, analyze, and present monthly financial and operational reports to the Controller and local management.
• Actively participate with management in preparation of annual budgets.
• Advise managers in financial matters where appropriate.
• Assist with process improvement and project development oversight.
• Monitor payables, budget variances, and important trends.
• Ensure internal controls exist to adequately mitigate risk inherent in key processes (AP, AR, etc).
• Create credit approval documentation in preparation of establishing credit limits for customers.
• Monitor and assist operations in regular inventory physical counts and reconcile inventory between database and system.
• Provide direct assistance and support in the annual financial statement audit and income tax filings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree required.
• Master’s degree in related field and/or CPA, CMA or potential candidate preferred.
• 2-5yrs experience in accounting; audit and/or payroll experience helpful.
• Solid leadership skills with previous supervisory experience and ability to influence upper management and business partners without authority.
• High competency with accounting software, spreadsheets, databases, data extraction, and MS tools.
• Previous (Lawson) Infor and M3 use helpful.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, written and verbal.
