Cloud Software Engineering Manager Job Description:

• Manages a team of engineers that are involved in the design, development and maintenance of our proprietary cloud platform and interfaces from it to external applications.

• The team will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of backend business logic, databases, APIs, and data workflows.

• The team will not only be involved in the development of documented tasks but will also be expected to participate in designing and documenting the platform itself and enhancements to it.

• The individual is not only responsible for managing the team but will also be expected to consume part of the team’s workload as capacity permits.

• A large degree of creativity and independent judgement is required.

• The individual is also expected to be able to operate independently without the need for constant supervision.

Essential Job Functions:

• Manages a team of software engineers and is responsible for the quality and quantity of the team’s output.

• Implements and leads various development related meetings, including but not limited to daily standups, sprint planning /review/retrospective.

• Assists team members on the tasks they are performing.

• Performs code reviews of the team’s work.

• Participates in the design of the platform and its components.

• Helps to design and implement solutions to user submitted tasks.

• Tests and addresses issues in their own work as well as the work of others.

• Assists fleshing out backlog items as they are being prepared for development.

Required Qualifications:

1. Minimum Experience

• 7+ years of development experience

• 2+ years of manager / supervisor role of a development team

• Strong working knowledge of Python/SQL

• Experience with developing applications in AWS

• Strong time management skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills

Skills and Abilities:
1. Strong background in AWS and it’s services (S3, Lambda, ECS, etc.)
2. Proficient in Python/SQL
3. Fluent in English

Pay: $120,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year
