We have an exciting opportunity for a commercial and innovative Head of Talent. As our Head of Talent you will be a key member of the HR Leadership team, playing an integral role in shaping our talent agenda and in the delivery of the overall HR Strategy, ensuring we identify, nurture and retain key talent to drive future business success.

About the role

Reporting to the HR Director your role will include the assessment and development of leadership capability at all levels, ensuring the maintenance of strong talent pipelines for critical roles as well as taking accountability for overseeing our external Talent Acquisition strategy. You will be perceptive in your assessments of people and able to provide insight and recommendations in hiring decisions. In order to succeed you will have a proven track record of delivering in a fast paced multi-faceted environment with experience of interfacing across Executive level positions.

Key elements to the role include:

• Leading the strategic approach to Talent Management company-wide, driving a culture of performance and accountability.
• Management of talent assessment and succession planning practices across the organisation.
• Development and delivery of senior development programmes.
• Overseeing the Talent Management cycle, early career talent interventions and support delivery of diversity commitments.
• Promotion of cross functional talent moves and developmental experiences to build broader capability, engagement and succession readiness
• Leading and coaching best practice for managers in matters relating to creating a high performing culture.
• Development and definition of leadership capability frameworks ensuring our people are developed in line with the skills and behaviours for tomorrow
• Overseeing our in-house Talent Acquisition function ensuring the business continues to attract and retain a diverse pool of talent at all levels
• Overseeing production of all HR analytics and technology innovation in order to help inform and drive business decision making
• Working closely with colleagues from Group (Holcim) on identifying and sharing areas of best practice and innovation in the talent arena
• Account/vendor management of all associated 3rd party providers responsible for recruitment, career transition and outplacement services.

What will you bring?

• HR or Business related Degree with CIPD qualification preferred.
• An innovative thinker that will introduce fresh ideas and perspectives, leading change through challenge and new technology/ideas.
• Deep understanding of assessment and diagnostic methodologies utilised to develop critical business capabilities.
• Commercial acumen with an understanding of key business drivers and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work at pace, get things done – sometimes with limited resources.
• External insight into best practice across Talent Management practices, processes, and new technology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact, influence and build relationships at Executive level.
