Age UK is currently looking to hire a Safeguarding Implementation Manager who is responsible for effectively safeguarding our people whilst adhering to legislation/regulations and best practice within the charity.
You will be a key point of contact for any safeguarding escalations alongside quality assuring our current safeguarding processes and providing suggestions where improvements can be adopted. As this role has direct s we are seeking an experienced people manager who can develop employees.
This role offers hybrid working between home and a choice of the Ashburton (Devon), Blackpool or London office. Currently the Safeguarding team meet once a quarter in one of the respective offices.
Age UK internal grade – 5N
Must haves:
* Extensive experience of providing specialist knowledge and expertise in response to operational safeguarding incidents for adults and/or children in a charity or statutory organisation
* Detailed knowledge of legislation and best practice in relation to safeguarding adults and children, the Mental Capacity Act and Safer Recruitment legislation
* Ability to develop and implement a safeguarding quality assurance framework.
* Significant experience and expertise in safeguarding including development of policy and procedures, ing, and developing good practice.
* Able to effectively present information to a range of audiences, both visually and audibly, including developing and delivering training and writing.
* Proven ability to manage deadlines and be able to work autonomously, but also collegiately with colleagues across the Charity.
* Experience of leading a team and providing strong and effective leadership in change management.
* Proven ability to network, build relationships and to challenge senior managers appropriately and with a view to improving safeguarding practices. Good influencing/diplomacy skills and the ability to balance competing interests and objectives, whilst supporting others to do the same.

* Knowledge of trauma informed practice
* Knowledge of LEAN methodology
* Knowledge of project management methodology
