Ag Processing Inc (AGP®) is currently seeking an Accounting Supervisor/Manager to join our team! The person in this critical role will be responsible for coordinating and directing all accounting functions for Soy Processing in our Aberdeen, SD and Dawson, MN locations. In addition, this person will ensure that all accounting activities are conducted in agreement with company goals and objectives and are performed according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This leadership role supervises others and will be responsible for P&L statements for both plants.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting
• 5-7+ years of accounting experience
• Experience in an agricultural commodity processing or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting practices, procedures, terminology, principles, tax regulations and guidelines.
• Experience with inventory analysis in accounting.
• Supervisory experience with the ability to use techniques to provide instruction, motivation, and training of employees (required for Manager, preferred for Supervisor).
• Skilled in developing and utilizing financial data, written reports, and other industry specific information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Skilled in organizing and planning work of others.
• Knowledge of federal and state accounting regulations and reporting requirements.
• Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and accounting software.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to determine errors and solutions while paying close attention to detail.
• Ability to coordinate department tasks, delegate work, and function as a team player.
• Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and possess a high degree of integrity and trust.
• Skilled in conflict resolution with individuals and groups both inside and outside the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Consult with plant and corporate management from various departments regarding accounting process and issues, short and long-rang planning, capital projects, financial analyses, and systems development.
• Perform administrative and supervisory duties such as quality review of work, identify training needs, performance review feedback, goal setting, hiring promotions, and salary administration.
• Assign department resources in order to meet deadlines and review accounting results to ensure a quality work product. Involvement in mandatory inventory on the 1st and 15th of each month.
• Create, monitor, review, and interpret various financial statements, month-end production, and cost data.
• Monitor and manage the plant’s hedge positions and ensure compliance with company hedging policies.
• Establish, maintain, and direct accounting and systems procedures.
