Role purpose

We are seeking an Insights Analyst who will be a part of Aesop’s growing Global Data, Analytics & Insights function, including over 25 data and analytics professionals on a 12 Month FT Contract. This role will be responsible for providing actionable insights to a wide stakeholder community including those in Retail, Marketing, Strategy, Product, Finance and Regional teams.

The role will however focus on analytics in relation to the performance of Aesop products including demand forecasting, category optimization, ranging, cannibalization etc. with an overlay of customer analytics.

You will be leveraging data within our newly developed Advanced Analytics Data platform which, for the first time in Aesop’s data transformation journey, unifies data from across the entire global business including platforms for retail, CRM (Customer Relationship Management), supply chain, digital and others.

Some things you may find yourself doing

• Evaluate briefs and develop methodologies in consensus with stakeholders across the globe and across functions (including Retail Operations, Marketing, Digital, Supply Chain and Finance) factoring in the requirements of each and using their expertise to contextualise insights
• Analyse extensive global datasets of our customers, transactions in-store and online, data from supply chain, retail, finance, and NPD history to identify and communicate performance trends into actionable insights for regional and global marketing teams
• Develop globally applicable methodologies that are tailored to evaluate Aesop’s unique product portfolio including seasonality, cannibalisation, SKU optimisation, ranging, customer product exploration journeys etc.
• Provide regional and global teams with timely insights on new product launches and review performance versus forecast for continuous improvement
• Develop automated tools to track, and analyse performance of the above
• Provide recommendations to the internal data function on datasets, views, functions and KPIs that could benefit the wider analytics community in delivering insights faster and with less effort

What We Are Looking For

• Open mindset and deep curiosity seeking to understand others, listen without judgement and act on diverse perspectives
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and psychologically safe work environment
• Demonstrated proficiency in profiling, clustering, segmentation, campaign analysis, category analysis, market basket analysis, experiment design and or forecasting, with a clear understanding of their financial and operational impacts
• Experience in developing and delivering presentations to a wide range of stakeholder groups, synthesising complex analytics into actionable insights. Proven track record of developing partnerships with multi-disciplinary stakeholder groups
• Strong facilitation skills in guiding conversations with multi-disciplinary stakeholder groups to define analytical methods
• Deep knowledge of languages and tools such as SQL, R, Python, Tableau and Power BI with the ability to write queries from scratch and guide others.
• A background in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Commerce with experience in statistical or analytical methods
• Experience in retail, marketing, skincare or similar luxury sectors is preferred
