Safety Assurance Specialist

Location: Primarily North Sydney with some work in other Sydney locations.

Work Arrangement: Full-time, with occasional WFH flexibility

Contract Duration: 12-18 months fixed-term

Salary: $150,000-200,000 per annum

Start Date: Immediate availability preferred (max. 4-week notice period)

Working Visa: Full Australian work entitlements required

About the Role:

AdvisoryHR are recruiting on behalf of our client a knowledgeable Safety Assurance Specialist to support the an in-progress Sydney Metro project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance and support in developing and maintaining safety assurance processes.
• Provide expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, and the development / review of safety plans and safety cases.
• Prepare detailed safety assurance documentation and s for internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits of safety procedures to identify and control potential hazards.
• Engage in various aspects of rail safety, rail operations, system safety, and human factors.
• Collaborate with project teams, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 5-10 years in the safety assurance space within the rail industry, preferably in metro systems, though heavy rail experience will also be considered.
• Relevant qualifications in engineering, safety assurance, rail safety, or a related field.
• Demonstrated understanding of safety responsibilities under the Rail Safety National Law and other applicable safety standards.
• Flexible and willing to get involved in multiple aspects of rail safety and operations.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
