Starting wage for these positions would be $23-$28/hour depending on experience and a skills assessment during the interview. There is also a $1.50/hour afternoon premium for this afternoon position.

Our AdvanTec Manufacturing Canada facility, in Chilliwack BC, is looking for a couple positive, energetic, and driven team members to join our Machine Shop as a (Afternoon Shift) Machine Operator. Working as part of a strong collaborative team in our marine division, the Machine Operator will set up and run various jobs to produce accurate parts for our Marine products. We are willing to train the right candidate.

This position will be working on our Afternoon Shift – Monday to Thursday from 2:00pm to 12:30am.

Essential functions for this role are:
Review set-up sheets and drawings to complete machined parts

Load tools and perform set-ups for the completion of a job

Take measurements and make adjustments to produce precision parts

Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job

Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain consistency and identify issues

Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages

Must be reliable and show up for work consistently

If you have the following experience, qualifications and skills, we want to hear from you!

Experience in set-up and operation of CNC Mill/Lathe

Experience with HAAS Machines is an asset

Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers) to take accurate measurements

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals

Good at math with analytical abilities

Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items

Proven ability to work well under minimal supervision and can take directions and follow through

Level 1 or 2 First Aid is an asset

Strong organizational skills
