Senior Bridge Design Engineer

I am working with an exciting consultancy who are looking to expand their Central London team. They have gone through a recent expansion due to a number of strong project wins. They have a real ambition to successfully grow their bridges team and would like to appoint a Senior Bridge Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and demonstrate ability to lead small teams in the preparation of design of bridges and other civil engineering structures
• Good project/task management skills. Deliver multiple small projects and or tasks within budget and to program
• Liaise with clients, review and agree scope for elements of work and prepare proposals.

Key Requirements

• MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• Must have extensive experience in bridge design
• Strong understanding of BIM requirements.
• Some understanding of geotechnical design and related issues
• Ideally be able to undertake simple tasks related with temporary works [i.e. piling or crane platforms design]
• Must be able to work independently in the delivery of simple to medium complex elements of design
• Good communication skills
• Ability to make decisions, act on your own initiative and operate in a pro-active way
• Well organised and strong interpersonal skills
• Must be familiar with Eurocodes and Network Rail Standards/Highways England would be a bonus
