Talent Acquisition Manager

Salary: £43,000 – £45,000 per annum, depending on experience

Location: Based at Hammersmith, with travel to other Advance offices and locations. Hybrid option available; minimum 3 days in office and up to 2 days working from home

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week, with flexibility to work some evenings to ensure the full remit of the role is delivered

Contract: Permanent

About the role:

As the Talent Acquisition Manager, you will lead in the development and implementation of a best-in-class candidate experience, whilst designing and executing employer branding activities, and introducing and developing scalable, sustainable, and measurable recruitment strategies, data, and processes.

You will manage and lead the end-to-end candidate process and experience, and be responsible for sourcing, screening, and selecting talent across all areas of the Charity, to ensure we attract and retain quality candidates.

You will also business partner with the hiring managers, actively listening and responding to needs, and supporting them through the full recruitment cycle, from Job Brief meetings, to onboarding new starters, and beyond!

Managing one Talent Acquisition Officer, you’ll report to, and work closely with, the Director of OD and HR, as well as liaise and work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organisation to achieve excellent results at every step.

Other key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Develop and manage the workforce planning of current/future recruitment needs, balancing both reactive and proactive support
• Lead on talent identification and headhunting, sourcing candidates qualified for roles, proactively and effectively sourcing candidates to build effective talent pools
• Develop candidate and employee/pulse survey/focus groups to obtain feedback on the candidate/employee experience and implement any improvements to the recruitment and onboarding cycle
• Train hiring managers in recruitment best practice and process, ensuring we secure candidates that meet both candidate and Advance’s expectations and service needs
• Monitor, capture and present monthly KPI reports to the HR Team and Director of OD, for HR meetings, and quarterly Board meetings
• Maintain our Applicant Tracking System and other processes to ensure effective and fair recruitment which meets our needs, including our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
• Develop and manage relationships with recruitment/advertising agencies, and work closely with the HR Manager and wider team on the scoping, implementation, and delivery of these systems
• Create an open, positive, and inclusive experience for internal applicants at Advance, supporting with their career development plans and exploring the idea of succession planning with line managers
• Develop intern, work experience and employment services programmes with the job centre, as a route to employment and to deliver on the organisation’s strategy
• Work collaboratively with the peer mentoring team in securing and developing an excellent bank of Volunteers, implementing a sustainable Volunteer programme

About You:

To be successful as the Talent Acquisition Manager, you’ll need the below experience and skills:

• Significant experience as a Talent/Recruitment Manager or Lead, ideally within both the private and not for profit sectors
• Significant experience of business partnering at all levels, with the ability to influence vertically using your exceptional interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage expectations and have those ‘challenging’ conversations, with both internal and external stakeholders
• In-depth knowledge of full cycle of recruiting, and employer branding techniques
• Experience managing and implementing various recruitment systems including an Applicant Tracking System
• Experience with (phone/virtual and face-to-face) interviews, candidate screening and evaluation
• Excellent time management skills
• Top-notch data integrity and administration skills, with exceptional attention to detail
• Dynamic, self-starter with a pro-active, ‘can-do’ attitude
• Experience managing staff, and working as part of a wider HR team
