Principal Tasks

The primary responsibility of the Hardware Engineer will be to design optical modules for datacenter, metro and core applications. Proven competency in the areas of signal integrity management utilizing Ansys HFSS/Keysight ADS would be highly desirable.

High proficiency with the use schematic design tools (e.g. Allegro) and EM simulation tools (HFSS/ADS)

Experience with high-speed RF measurements and characterization equipment

Experience with designs that employ bare-dies, and good background in the different microelectronic assembly techniques (e.g., wire-bonding and flip chipping)

Strong fundamentals in signal integrity, power integrity and RF design concepts such as impedance matching, S-parameters

Working experience of optical transceivers is a bonus

Supplementary Tasks

Demonstrated ability to complete the full product design life cycle on a portion of the system involving multiple components.

Capable of working independently on the assigned design activities with minimal supervision.

Comprehensive understanding of the product architecture, design, processes, tools, etc. required to perform their assigned design activities.

Operating at the equivalent of an engineer with 5 plus years of relevant experience.

Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience

BS +6 years of experience, MS/PhD +2 years of experience in electrical engineering or Physics.

Experience in schematic capture and layout of high-speed (>10 GHz) packages and PCBs.

Strong fundamentals in signal integrity, power integrity and RF design concepts such as impedance matching, S-parameters

Knowledge of optical component reliability and telecom performance standards such as Telcordia, IEC, and ITU is a bonus.

Experience in fiber optics test and measurements is a bonus.

Requirements & Work Environment

Able to drive design teams, component vendors and manufacturing partners

Able to generate high quality design documents (High level design and Unit Test)

Good communication skills. Written and verbal.

Self-motivated and perform with minimum supervision.
