Adinkra Inc Hiring for Unreal Engine Developer (Robotics) Job at Remote Full Time

The Company

Adinkra is a fast-growing R&D engineering startup helping customers develop state of the art robotics and AI products while minimizing their cost and time to market. We work on multiple high-impact projects across several industry verticals with the goal of accelerating the positive development of cutting-edge robotics and AI technology.

The Role

This is a contract hourly position with a minimum commitment of 20 hours/week with the goal of hiring full time within the next 3 months. You must be a United States citizen to apply.

The Unreal Engine Developer will report directly to the CEO and lead the developent of Adinkra’s robotics simulation efforts using Unreal Engine 4 and 5. This is a high-impact role with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.

The primary responsibilities for this role include the following:

• Create physically realistic digital models for Adinkra’s robotics systems, including drones, ground vehicles, and other systems.
• Create tools for Adinkra to parameterize these models programmatically.
• Create controllers and interfaces for operating these systems in simulation.
• Create synthetic datasets for the purpose of training computer vision aglorithms by automatically creating labeled ground-truth datasets for a variety of scenarios.
• Create tools to automatically generate worlds for a variety of autonomy use cases.
• Support the wider robotics team on facilitating hardware/software in the loop testing.
• Support the wider robotics team in integrating virtual sensors, gimbals, or other subsystems.
• Support the wider robotics team in standing up infrastructure for simulation at scale.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience with UE4/5
• 3+ years of experience in C++, Python, Linux, and GIT.
• Experience with computer vision and synthetic data generation.
• Experience integrating and calibrating virtual sensors.
• Experience creating custom high-fidelity assets.
• Experience scripting agents and complex scenarios.
• Experience with animation and model rigging.
• Strong fundamentals in software design, algorithms, and data structures.
• Thrives in high-paced startup environment.
• Ability to integrate with a team of developers, engineers, and project managers.
• Willingness to learn quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience ROS, MATLAB, Simulink, and CUDA a plus.
• Experience using 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Autodesk, etc.).
• Experience with Unity, Blender, and other 3D graphics tools a plus.
• Experience with AirSim, CARLA, Gazebo, JMavSim, MuJoCo, or other simulation tools a plus.
• Experience with hardware in the loop (HITL) and software in the loop (SITL).
