I have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technology Manager to join the Civil Nuclear Constabulary at their offices in Griffin Park, Seascale Cumbria

This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday.

PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE POLICE VETTING AND SECURITY CLEARANCE CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION. PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IF YOU HAVE NOT MET THIS CRITERIA.

JOB PURPOSE:-

• The Technology Manager will provide subject matter expertise for specific technology infrastructure and applications deployed across CNC.
• They will be responsible for development projects and the coordination of activities relating to those technologies.
• They will work with IT colleagues, colleagues from other CNC departments and supplier partners as needed in order to ensure the health, resilience, security, stability and operational performance of the technology.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILTIES

• Provide technical guidance regarding digital technology infrastructure and applications, and its application within the CNC landscape.
• Provide technical expertise to enable the correct and optimal management of IT infrastructure.
• Present technical recommendations to meet business needs through the application of digital and technology solutions, aligned to strategic roadmaps and relevant standards and architectural frameworks.
• Develop, own, and manage project plans associated with the maintenance and development of technology infrastructure and applications.
• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day project team activities aligned to agreed timescales and budgets.
• Track and mitigate against technology and project risks and issues.
• Identify, document, and manage any assumptions and dependencies in project delivery.
• Effectively manage relationships with delivery teams, including with third-party suppliers where required.
• Manage expectations of key stakeholders through timely, well-structured communications on project progress and project healthworking with Business Relationship Managers to ensure the message is received appropriately.
• Establish and drive robust project governance, taking into consideration delivery, architecture, and change management requirements.
• Collaborate with Digital Service Managers and Third-party Suppliers to ensure effective service transition through performing the transition planning & support process, and contributing to the change management & evaluation and service validation processes.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Knowledge:

• Has good knowledge of Technology solutions and technical capabilities.
• Knowledge and implementation of project management frameworks such as PRINCE2 and Agile.

Skills:

• Good planning and organization skills.
• Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
• Excellent presentation skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrable stakeholder relationship and negotiation skills.

Experience:

• Working experience of managing IT/technology change.
• Proven track record of successfully driving and delivering end-to-end IT solutions/ projects.
• Experience of negotiation and working with project and process management.
• Experience of working in a multi-sourcing, multi-supplier environment.
