About The Project

We are building a powerful tool that provides insight to water users to help them make more informed planning decisions and helps our community to understand how water is used, shared, traded and managed.

The role

This role will develop software by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas and following the software development lifecycle.

This position plays an important role by bringing new ideas and solutions to the team, investigating, and using new technologies where relevant. This senior role will provide support to junior software engineers for skills development through coaching, advice and training. Also, this role will participate in tasks of planning, estimation, scheduling and staffing.

As a senior software engineer, you will train and present new project features to customers and stakeholders.

About You

You are a senior developer with demonstrated experience in web programming with a solid knowledge of back-end components and front-end development.

You know how to deliver best-in-class software and have experience in designing, developing and deploying software solutions. You work as part of a squad in all the lifecycle of the project from planning, architecture, design, implementation, documentation and customer support.

You have sound practice analysing information, software requirements, design, testing and implementing large complex software systems with multiple technologies. You know common software design patterns including SOLID, MVC, MVVM, etc.

You are genuinely curious about how things work and passionate about technologies. You like to learn new things every day and feel comfortable sharing with others. You are capable to work individually as well as collaboratively with the internal team and clients.

You have thorough knowledge and experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps development practices.

General Purpose of Position

This role is responsible for designing, coding, and modifying software from layout to function according to clients’ specifications. This position works at the front-end and back-end of software projects integrating data from back-end services and databases.

Areas of Responsibility

• Design solutions for the water industry in all the lifecycle of the project (planning, architecture, design, implementation, documentation).
• Modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance or upgrade interfaces.
• Directing software programming and documentation development.
• Consulting with team-members and customers on project status and proposals.
• Working with customers on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
• Analysing information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications of an existing system.
• Consulting with engineering staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performances requirements.
• Designing and developing software system using specific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and design consequences.
• Preparing reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status.
• Conferring with project managers to obtain information on limitations and capabilities.

Skills Required

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree.
• Strong knowledge of the software development life-cycle.
• Ability to develop unit testing of code components or complete applications.
• Full-stack developer with experience in water industry.
• Experience working on a variety of software development projects.
• Experienced in end-to-end software development experience.
• Highly skilled in JavaScript, NodeJS and React.
• Familiar with CSS, HTML and databases.
• Fluent in Spanish is ideal

The salary range for this position is $AUS 75,000 to 90,000 plus superannuation.
