Active Playground Equipment Hiring for Metal Fabricator/Welder at Point Edward, ON Full Time

Summary

The Metal Fabrication Technician will primarily be responsible to, weld and fabricate special parts and components to meet specifications. You must have knowledge of appropriate materials, be skilled in building techniques and tools, required in various assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Bolt, screw, clip, weld, fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment. Fabricate special parts and components to meet specifications.
• Grind, cut, drill, scrape, sand, polish or plane materials and surfaces using abrasive tools or machines.
• Position and install parts, subassemblies, and accessories. Detail, and finish assembled materials.
• Operate a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts.
• Transport raw materials, parts, finished products, and packaging materials throughout the warehouse manually, or with powered equipment.
• Protect the health and safety of yourself and others by adopting and adhering to safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety.
• Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency.
• Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety, and quality standards, as well as customer needs.
• Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, set machine or equipment controls, carry out production and inspection processes.
• Mark, record, and report defective products.
• Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day.
• Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum 2 year building/fabrication skills in fencing, decking, plumbing, or framing.

• Highly self-motivated, able to take direction.
• Able to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills.

Salary: $36,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
