Aim of the position

This position is responsible for the day-to-day management and organisation of the Service, to act in accordance with the WHS Act & Regulation to ensure a safe place of work, and to commit to following all Service policies and procedures while working in accordance with NQS and NQF.

Duties:

• Ensure the leadership, management, and delivery of quality educational programs
• based on the needs of the families using the service
• Ensure that the service’s philosophy, policies, and procedures are implemented
• Ensure that confidentiality is respected and maintained.
• Supervise the provision of quality care that meets the individual and group needs of children
• Ensure that the day-to-day operational, financial, administration, fee procedures, and management procedures are carried out
• Roster educators according to the child educator ratios and regularly monitor the roster to ensure adequate staffing throughout the day.
• Ensure qualification requirements are maintained at all times.
• Update staff files and refer to staff file checklist.
• Ensure health & safety are maintained in accordance with the company standards

Relationships with Kids, Families, and Communities

• Complete Parent Newsletter and email to parents each month.
• Ensure the service is meeting the needs of families by seeking regular input and feedback
• Communicate with parents and families in a warm and friendly manner and maintain professionalism at all times
• Develop relationships with all children and families in the service
• Work with other professionals such as Inclusion Support to meet the needs of the individual child
• Become an active member of the community and encourage community participation such as Fire Brigade Visits

Experience & Qualifications:

• Relevant recognised and approved qualifications in accordance with Regulations at Diploma level or higher.
• Current Senior First Aid certificate in accordance with Regulations.
• Completed Working with Children Check.
• Appropriate skills knowledge and training in food safety and hygiene as required under the Food Safety Legislation (2001).
• Recognised and Approved Child Protection Training.
• Children’s Service Supervisor Approval from NSW Education and Communities
