Activate Learning now have an exciting opportunity for a Science Teacher with a genuine passion for the subject to join our Academic and Professional Studies teaching team at Reading College.
Teaching on our Access to HE and BTEC courses, this post would suit a Biology or Chemistry teacher looking for a new area of development or would be an ideal development opportunity for a newly qualified teacher, or science graduate looking to get into teaching.
This is a permanent, full time role based at our Reading campus. This role has the potential for job share, so we are interested in applications for both full and part time.

What do you need to be successful in this role?*
We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work.
Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications to teach on our science courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

• Level 3 or above qualification in Biology or Chemistry is essential
• It is desirable if you have a teaching qualification and worked within education as a teacher, but this is not essential

Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.

You will be joining an established and supportive teaching team within our Academic and Professional Studies faculty on a permanent basis, with the potential to earn up to £35,216 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
