This is an exciting opportunity to join the Action for Children family and contribute towards making children’s lives safer and happier. You will also undertake or support specific initiatives to enable the organisation and its Residential services to develop as per the Action for Children growth strategy. The role is Homebased and the successful candidate can be based anywhere in the UK.

This is a pivotal role in supporting our ambitious Residential growth strategy. We are seeking an experienced Recruitment and Induction Officer to join the charity to work alongside management and People function to take a lead role with developing management capacity to effectively attract, recruit and retain staff to enable the delivery of safe and effective services.

You will make a difference by:

• Working closely with recruiting managers to advise and develop their capabilities to recruit and retain staff

• Utilising best practice and insight gained from continued learning to provide pragmatic and informed solutions and ideas.

• Sourcing and use existing data to produce quantitative and qualitative data, including other insights that provide evidence and or a factual basis to enable decisions and actions to be pursued.

• Working collaboratively and engagingly with senior management to provide professional and detailed knowledge, advice, insight and coaching for managers in the specialisms of services and their recruitment.

• Developing an understanding of the potential growth areas and areas of risk and plan attraction strategies with the Action for Children Recruitment Service to ensure the supply of suitable candidates.

• Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with the colleagues in the recruitment service, In house agency staff provider and recruiting managers, to provide a solution focused approach to improve recruitment practices to attract and retain top talent.

• Co-ordinating and promoting the full induction experience across Action for Children for new starters in fee-based residential services in England and facilitate organisational wide induction activity.

• Enabling our new appointees to experience a consistent and beneficial induction process that enhances their welcome to the organisation and their job to enable their retention to become part of the Action for Children family.

You will need:

• CIPD or equivalent (desirable) or qualified by experience.

• Experience of supporting recruitment services in the charity/not-for-profit sector in particular Residential Services.

• Previous experience of developing and implementing high volume recruitment and induction processes/programmes.

• The ability to work effectively remotely and flexibility to travel UK wide.

• To exercise sound judgement based on logical thinking, best practice, organisational understanding, and evidence.

• High levels of emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and empathy to build effective relationships.

• Building and sustaining positive relationships with stakeholders and recruiting managers.

• Willingness to learn and build an understanding of the new services and the profile of the children the charity will be supporting.
