Actify Hiring for Software Engineer Job at Edinburgh, Scotland Full Time

Actify has an opportunity for a newly graduated Software Engineer to contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of new features in our SpinFire CAD software. Typical tasks will involve developing new model analysis and measurement tools based on the requirements gathered by the sales team as well as striving to present the most accurate visual representation of 2D and 3D models.

As a junior engineer, we expect you to work towards attaining the skills and knowledge to level up as a software engineer and we will provide the support you need to get there!

Role Description

The successful candidate will report to the SpinFire Engineering Manager. Duties undertaken will include:

• Helping in the design of software solutions to meet new requirements and implement these designs effectively.
• Collaborating with other engineers on the team to tackle varying technical challenges.
• Working on our evolving code base to resolve bugs, implement enhancements and develop new features.

  • Proficiency with C# and/or C++.
  • Experience developing WPF applications.
  • Knowledge with Git or other version control software.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D graphics (OpenGL, DirectX).

Education

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computing Science or IT-related field, or equivalent industry experience

This position is based in Scotland, preferably near our office in Edinburgh. We accommodate telecommuting within the UK only.

Occasional international travel may be required.
