Administrative Assistant Engineering Office in Evansville, IN

We are actively hiring for a skilled Administrative Assistant / Receptionist to support the Office, Engineering, and Construction workload of Civil Engineering firm in Evansville, IN.

While this person’s primary role will be to support front-office duties (answering phones, greeting visitors), they will also be asked to assist basic Civil Engineering Project functions (contract preparation, project tracking) on an as-needed basis.

This is a premiere Civil Engineering firm that does work across the state of Indiana and this person will primarily support the Evansville satellite office.

Job Responsibilities :

• Provide project assistance to 20 total technical professionals in-office, including Engineers, CAD Technicians, Project Managers, and Construction Inspectors.
• Assist with project needs as required, including (but not limited to) : project tracking, assisting in invoicing, creating documents, updating spreadsheets, etc.
• Maintain presence at front desk of the office and perform typical front office duties, including (but not limited to) : answering phones, greeting visitors, etc.
• Serve as a pseudo-Office Manager, including (but not limited to) : keeping track of supplies, ordering new supplies, being the “go-to” person for the office from an administrative standpoint.

Job Requirements :

• 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Assistant or Construction Assistant
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office products and with Computer Skills (i.e. : filing documents, data entry, computer savvy)
• Must have a Pleasant Personality and provide friendly customer service with easy collaboration to both internal and external partners
• Must be willing and able to “wear multiple hats” and demonstrate self-motivation to assist with work however possible and needed
• Preferred but Not Required Experience working for an Engineering or Construction company, or previous Engineering Admin experience
• Preferred but Not Required Paralegal experience or certification

Miscellaneous :

• The standard work schedule will include Monday through Thursday from 7am to 5pm CST; plus Friday from 7am to 11am CST. This is 10% onsite.
• Water / Wastewater infrastructure as a significant impact on society and is an important way someone can make a difference.
• This is a recession-proof industry, as the government continues to fund Water / Wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Training will be provided for the Water / Wastewater functions of this role on an as-needed basis.
• Compensation will depend on the candidate’s relevant experience.
