Acella Construction Corporation is looking for a self-motivated, dependable Accounting Assistant to join our growing business. Founded in 2003, Acella delivers a premium suite of construction workeragement services, including design-build and pre-construction solutions for business owners, commercial real estate developers, and discerning institutional and retail clients. We are searching for a team player that is also able to work independently with minimal supervision. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for accounting tasks necessary to keep Acella Construction’s projects and internal financial operations running smoothly. The Accounting Assistant will work in conjunction with all levels of management and project staff. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full-function job cost accounting
• Review & process incoming subcontractor & vendor invoices
• Process weekly check run
• Process client invoices and payments
• Make bank deposits
• Track and coordinate with the Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager, supporting documents required for subcontractor payment (lien releases, insurance certificates, executed subcontract agreements, out of state tax certificates)
• Ongoing review and analysis of job cost details for accuracy and consistency
• Maintain a neat and orderly filing system
• Perform other related activities and duties as assigned
• Ability to work with all levels of project staff and organization
• Occasionally handle overflow of other administrative and clerical tasks

Requirements:

• Associates Degree in a related field
• 2+ years accounting experience
• Must be proficient in QuickBooks & Excel
• Experience with Procore helpful
• Construction accounting experience helpful
• Ability to multitask efficiently & accurately
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Must have a strong work ethic & professional manner
• Must be able to meet deadlines with accuracy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
