Position Description – Piling Rig Operator (Driller)

Ace Civil Pty Ltd is located in Regents Park, NSW. Founded in Sydney, Australia in 2018, ACE is a full-service early works contractor working in the construction industry. Services include Asbestos Removal, Demolition, Earthworks, Civil Works, Piling, Shoring Systems and Contaminated Site Management.

Situated within the corporate structure of the Ace Group, the group is a large-scale employer in the building and construction industry and has management of numerous construction projects. We have experienced unprecedented growth in recent years which has created a number of employment opportunities.

Key tasks and responsibilities of the role:

· operation of piling rig within manufacturers specifications and direction of site civil engineers;

· carrying out dismantling, moving and reassembling piling rig and accessory plant;

· working with driller offsiders to effectively eliminate operating risks;

· performance of minor maintenance and repairs, including cleaning and lubrication of piling rig;

· documenting rig performance and maintenance of operator’s log books;

· safe operation of piling rig, including implementing fall protection measures for open piles;

· Drill and construct foundation piles, bored piles and CFA piles, shoring piles, soldier, contiguous and secant pile walls, sheet piling and screw piling (including pile casing installation, reo installation, etc.);

· monitoring operation of piling rig and ensuring safety of site workers during drilling operations;

· liaison with company diesel mechanics to ensure effective piling rig maintenance;

· operation of auxiliary plant such as pumps to expel water and mud;

· positioning of spoil in appropriate site locations, subject to site constraints.

Key skills and experience required:

– AQF Certificate II or III, or at least one year of relevant experience;

– Demonstrated experience in piling rig operations;

– Proficiency in the English language;

– Excellent communication skills;

– Strong understanding of workplace WHS procedures;

We currently have a number of vacancies for the position of Piling Rig Operator (Driller).The salary level on offer for the position is $100,000.00 per annum plus superannuation.
