We’re hiring an Accounting Manager to own the accounting foundation of a cross-border consumer products business operating in Canada, the US, the UK, and the EU. You’ll report to the Head of Finance and serve as the accountable internal owner of our books — managing external CPA and bookkeeping partners while defining standards, inspecting the work, and ensuring our financials are accurate, timely, compliant, and defensible.

This is a high-ownership role in a fast-moving environment with active lenders, multi-jurisdiction tax exposure, and decision-making that depends on the numbers you produce. If you do your best work when the playbook doesn’t yet exist, read on.

What You’ll Own

• Month-end close: reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and management reporting
• Weekly cash flow forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting to leadership, lenders, and external advisors
• Multi-jurisdiction indirect tax compliance: Canadian GST/HST and PST, US state sales tax, UK and EU VAT (OSS/IOSS)
• Cross-border income tax filings, audit support, and external accountant relationships in Canada and the US
• Payroll, employee reimbursements, expense payments, and statutory remittances
• AP, vendor/customer setup, payment batches, collections, and reconciliations
• Accounting data flows between QuickBooks Online, Shopify, Amazon, retail channels, and Fulfil ERP
• Customs-related processes: duties, tariffs, and refund recovery
• Financial statement preparation, audit readiness, and scalable accounting controls
• Process improvement: identifying gaps, resolving root causes, and keeping approvals practical and lean

What You Bring

• Formal education in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience as an Accounting Manager, Controller, or equivalent in a company with operations in both Canada and the US
• Strong working knowledge of Canadian and US GAAP
• Multi-jurisdiction indirect tax experience (GST/HST, PST, US state sales tax; UK/EU VAT ideal)
• Direct experience supporting income tax compliance and tax authority examinations in Canada and/or the US
• Knowledge of Canadian payroll procedures and statutory remittances
• Experience producing cash flow forecasting and lender/stakeholder reporting in an environment with secured debt
• Strong QuickBooks Online knowledge, including configuring data feeds from multiple sources; Fulfil or comparable ERP experience an advantage
• Audit experience: knowledge of financial statement audit requirements; prior experience overseeing an audit process is an asset
• Familiarity with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, and similar) and a demonstrated interest in using them to accelerate analysis, automate repetitive work, and improve reporting speed and quality
• Comfort operating in a fast-changing, high-stakes environment with multiple competing priorities and external stakeholders — you’re unflappable when the work is messy
• Excellent written and verbal communication

• $80,000–$110,000 CAD base, plus personal and company performance bonuses
