Job Description
ACCIONA Geotech Group Services are seeking to engage a Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team in Port Melbourne. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role is responsible for delivering quality accounting, reporting and financial support to key internal and external stakeholders in an accurate, timely and efficient manner whilst maintaining the highest standard of financial control across the Acciona Infrastructure Asia Pacific Group.
This position will have a key role in developing internal financial controls, development and monitoring of budgets, and leading the Group function in ensuring ongoing compliance and accurate accounting treatment.
Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to
- High quality accounting reconciliations and supporting calculations including control of inter-company transactions
- Assist department heads with budget preparations and report on performance throughout the year
- Ensure correct and accurate monthly accounting processes are maintained
- Support of annual audit processes
- Active contributor to the development of the group’s finance-related ICT development
- Actively lead and participate in the development of internal systems and processes, designing feedback loops into work
- Ad-hoc assistance to the CFO and senior management
- Comply with and promote other Company policies, guidelines and procedures
- Other duties that are consistent with your qualifications, skills and capabilities.
Required Skills and Competencies
You will have completed a relevant bachelor’s degree in Business / Commerce (majoring in Finance / Accounting) or relevant tertiary qualification and be CA/ CPA qualified in Australia. Having an excellent understanding of technical accounting and having excellent communication skills will be essential for success in this role, as will the ability to manage your time effectively.
