Job Description
We’re looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to work on the Murray Basin Rail project.
The Murray Basin Rail Project will deliver key benefits for primary producers and freight operators including increased capacity, improved network reliability and resilience, and reduced journey times. The project includes track upgrades, new sidings, signalling upgrades and passing loop construction.
Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Obtain approval for all invoices and other required outgoings for payment in accordance with relevant policies and procedures
  • Process all accounts payable transactions in the financial system
  • Ensure payment of accounts payable within terms whilst giving consideration to the cash flow requirements of the business
  • Process payment for all staff reimbursement claims on a weekly basis
  • Provide remittance advices for payments made
  • Maintain the filling system for all accounts payable transactions. Ensure GST is processed correctly for all payments
  • Key supplier account reconciliations
  • Manage accounts mailbox
  • Ad hoc administration duties
  • Recommend and assist with the development and implementation of process, policy and system improvements in relation to the Accounts Payable area.
Required Skills and Competencies

  • You will have a relevant qualification in Finance / Accounting with proven experience in an Accounts Payable role (desired however not essential)
  • Having demonstrated ability to work effectively, high attention to details, exercise initiative and to set priorities and work within required timelines is essential for success in this role.
  • Excellent communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.
