Position Title: * Curriculum Writer
Employment Type: Independent Contractor

Reports To: Chief Academic Officer
Compensation: $50/hr

Role Expectations*
The curriculum writer develops and authors virtual courses for designated content areas and grade levels for the dropout/reengagement and alternative education market.

Role Requirements*

*

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in education or directly related field
• Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience with curriculum alignment and assessment development

• License/Certification: holds/has held in the last five years an educator’s license in one or more of the following areas: 6-12 English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies (preference for multiple licenses)

• Background Check: Demonstration of a clear state and federal criminal history

Role Responsibilities

• Create standards-based courses within the parameters of assigned content area(s)/ grade level(s)
• Organize writing schedules to complete drafts within assigned timelines
• Provide routine data-driven updates on the project’s status
• Monitor processes for course development workflows
• Aid in the creation and delivery of professional development modules and structures to train curriculum writers
• Collaborate with peers and supervisors as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of analyzing curriculum standards
• Thorough knowledge of assessment of school-aged students
• Ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision
• Thorough knowledge of Google Workspace and Zoom
• Prior experience authoring curriculum projects

• Working knowledge of current Georgia, Texas, Ohio and/or Florida curriculum standards
• Experience creating courses aligned to standards
