ACCEL Schools Hiring for Regional Special Education Coordinator Job at Ohio Full Time

ACCEL Schools is seeking an experienced Special Education professional to oversee the implementation of IEP and educational services as outlined by IDEA and the Ohio Operating Standards for the Education of Children with Disabilities in Cincinnati and Dayton, OH.

The Regional Special Education Coordinator is crucial to their success.

The Regional Special Education Coordinator, in collaboration with building leadership and school-based intervention teams, is responsible for special education compliance, implementation, and oversight. Daily tasks may include the following:

• Coach, observe, provide feedback, and support Intervention Specialists.
• Develop and implement professional development opportunities related to special education implementation and services to intervention teams and building staff.
• Facilitate and lead the IEP, ETR, and 504 process.
• Lead weekly intervention team meetings at each building.
• Maintain special education master rosters and the timelines and tasks associated with them.
• Provide technical guidance and support related to IDEA and its implementation.
• Provide weekly on-site support at each of the assigned buildings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and current Intervention Specialist License (Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Intensive).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Intervention Specialist in Ohio.
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar or related position.
• Knowledge of Ohio’s Learning Standards and Ohio’s Learning Standards-Extended.
• Knowledge of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
• Ability to work well under pressure, and effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently; as well as the ability to coordinate services and providers.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• High quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in an urban school setting preferred.
• Successful completion of a background check and reliable transportation; ability to travel daily to school sites is required.
