Academy of Art University is seeking an experienced Financial Aid Intake Specialist to support new students. If you have an appreciation for the arts and education and desire to work remotely, Academy of Art University encourages you to consider joining our team. Financial Aid Intake Specialists communicate with new students, by phone, email and sometimes virtually, every day. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work with aspiring artists.

Responsibilities:

• Answer student questions and anticipate financial concerns in a manner that is customer focused. Where necessary, counsel students to ensure financial obligations are honored
• Inform and advise students and parents regarding eligibility and responsibilities of financial aid programs; interpret and explain policies, application procedures and availability of funding from various sources
• Provide checklist and support for Student/Parent for future financial aid appointments:
• FAFSA
• Institutional Application
• Entrance Counseling
• Stafford/Plus-Promissory notes
• Parent Plus Loan Information
• Tax Transcript (if necessary)
• VA documentation (if necessary)
• Checks NSLDS (National Student Loan Data System) and COD (Common Origination and Disbursement) to determine students who previously attended college
• Assist with scheduling prospective students with Student Financial Services Representative.

Qualifications:

• Possess a bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or relevant experience
• Previous financial aid experience
• Passionate about student success and higher education
• Empathetic, patient, and positive
• Excellent phone and written communication skills
• Able to thrive in a dynamic and deadline-driven environment

This position is fully remote working:

Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Pacific Standard Time

Compensation: $24.76 per hour

Academy of Art University is based solely in San Francisco, California. This job opportunity may be available for remote work from a predesignated location within the contiguous United States.
