The VP of Talent will be a strategic, entrepreneurial, and hands-on leader who will play a key role in ensuring that Academic Partnerships cultivates an experience where every associate feels a sense of belonging, develops to their potential, and meaningfully impacts Academic Partnerships’ commitment to helping universities succeed in launching , growing and sustaining top-quality, affordable and workforce relevant degree programs online, so that students can advance their lives and careers. To achieve this, the leader, along with members of the HR Leadership Team, will shape the longer-term, integrated talent management strategy, foster an environment committed to authenticity and inclusivity, and build a culture of excellence in HR as we elevate our partnership with the business and our stakeholders.
The Opportunity

Talent Management and Acquisition: Design and Execute Relevant and Business-Focused Talent Solutions

• Design and develop strategic talent solutions that enable Academic Partnerships’ business priorities, particularly needs that arise from the strategy planning process and organization design, strategy, and talent discussions.

Learning & Development, Performance and Talent Management

• Deploy learning solutions for Academic Partnerships employees at every functional level: design, facilitate, coach.
• Serve as a key thought partner — advising, mentoring, and influencing HR and the Senior Leadership Team on matters of talent, succession, people development, and diversity & inclusion.
• Lead on core talent processes for leadership team talent reviews.
• Serve as consultant and coach to business and HR team on talent management. Partner with business leaders to understand and address organization design and functional capability gaps.
• Work with businesses to identify, develop and advance the careers of the current and future pipeline of leaders for senior leadership positions across Academic Partnerships.
• Track movement/progress/trends of talent in critical funnels driving purpose and business needs. Analyze broad internal talent data to proactively identify and address key talent trends.
• Lead the execution behind the development of a workforce plan for the long-term future of the organization; benchmarks the competition to stay current on trends affecting the talent pipeline; implement an analytical, scalable, data-based approach to building Academic Partnership’s organization.

Talent Acquisition

• Design and deliver transformative pre-employment assessment tools using strategies resulting in effective talent acquisition, onboarding, engagement, performance, and a welcoming culture that elevates diverse talent and experience.
• Manage the full cycle of the employment experience including talent acquisition/hiring, new employee orientation, onboarding, employee engagement, human resources (HR) training, and exit meetings.
• Maintain knowledge of talent acquisition trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies
• Design and implement a recruitment strategy to attract and retain diverse talented candidates for open positions and current employees.
• Assess the organization’s talent acquisition and retention efforts, report findings, and develop action plans that foster maintaining dedicated, high-quality, and diverse teams.
• Supervise Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development team members within the area of responsibility for the HR Department.
• Advance our diversity & inclusion strategy while aligning and executing a cohesive approach that integrates new and existing corporate initiatives, policies, programs, systems, and procedures that cultivate an environment where all can thrive; evaluate and execute on diversity & inclusion goals and close critical gaps.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Microsoft Suite
• Workday, Paycor, ADP, and other HRIS and learning systems
• 10+ years in Talent Management (TA, L&D, and some D&I)
• 5+ years in an HRBP role – preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree – required
• Master’s degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Organizational Psychology or Organizational Behavior – preferred
• Travel: up to 20%
• Remote
