Aberdein Considine & Company has an exciting opportunity for a software developer to work for long established company specialising in Legal, Financial, and Property Services. Established in North East Scotland the firm now has 20 branch offices covering England and Scotland.
We are looking for talented software developer to join and enhance our small development team. The team has full lifecycle responsibility, taking ownership of solutions from initial concept to design and implementation. Our priorities are set against our strategic roadmap which ensures the team understand long term business objectives, and can therefore shape decisions, technology choices, and potential future opportunities.
We value a strong team culture. The team follows agile methodologies, working in weekly sprints, collaborating on design, and peer reviewing each other’s code before it is committed. We ensure broad knowledge of our code base by providing opportunities for team members to work on any part of the system. The firm have a flexible working model and can either work from home or in the office communications are ensured through frequent Zoom meetings, with regular ad hoc meetings and discussions taking place throughout the working day.
You will be involved in a combination of developing, adding new functionality and fixing issues in existing software applications. You will need to communicate and agree solutions, technologies and designs with developers, team leaders and stakeholders. As well as writing code and unit tests you will review other developer’s designs and code. An active member of the team, you will provide help and support to the other developers, and input into improving the development process and standards.

Requirements

Key Skills

• Any of the following development languages – C#, .Net Framework, HTML5 Web Development, Visual Studio, Java, SQL
• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and its various approaches – i.e. Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, DevOps, RAD

Desirable Skills

• Experience of working in a Professional Services Environment
• ASP .Net Core
