Abellio UK Hiring for Head of HR at Glasgow Full Time

You’ll have an incredibly varied role covering all aspects of HR. You’ll be supporting over 200 colleagues in our Abellio HQ functions (parent company for 4 train companies and 1 bus company in the UK) and our Shared Service Centre (who provide customer experience; payroll and financial services to our train companies). You’ll be based in our SSC office in Glasgow, which is a fantastic and friendly place to work. Your HR input will be valued across both HQ and SSC. For the Shared Services Centre, you’ll be a member of the Senior Leadership Team promoting HR best practice to support the delivery of our SSC strategy.

Key responsibilities:
Lead the HR Team (HR Manager and 2 HR Advisors)

Act as lead HR advisor on issues related to resourcing, employee engagement, employment law, HR policy, talent development diversity and inclusion, performance management, employee relations and internal communications.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

Minimum role criteria:
CIPD qualified preferred (or equivalent qualification)

Significant generalist experience as a senior HR Business Partner

Able to identify organisational challenges, opportunities and create a case for change

Strong knowledge and understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice initiatives

Significant experience of delivering operational HR in a matrix environment

Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate data or complex issues into clear communication, adapting the communication style as appropriate for the audience
