The Opportunity
Our location in North Chicago, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Logistics Analyst . This new team member will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
They will provide the distribution / transportation information, analyses, and systems knowledge necessary to determine the most efficient and effective distribution and transportation patterns.
What You’ll Work On
Identify projects, perform data research, review, and analyze findings, make recommendations, present findings, implement approved recommendation with assistance from manager.
Responsible for monitoring / scheduling all freight moves for both domestics and international shipments
Identify cost reduction projects; perform data research, review, and analyze findings, make recommendations, present findings, write final , implement recommendation.
Provide recommendations in terms of elemental and total costs for each operation; identify alternatives & costs, define the costs and savings of the best solution.
Influences others to maintain smooth and efficient distribution operations, Assists management with negotiation of transfer rates and transportation rates with outside vendors.
Contacts external vendors and suppliers to exchange and obtain information; serves as the focal point for analysis and communications.
Makes plans to accomplish assigned activities and projects, establishes priorities so as to handle competing demands, optimizes use of available resources, estimates time and resources necessary to complete tasks or projects.
Implements changes or improvements and incorporates into the routine operations of the organization
Makes day-to-day decisions which demonstrate a basic understanding of the financial business drivers (e.g., ROI, factory costs) and their inter-relationships.
Shares information with appropriate frequency and timeliness so as to benefit the receiver, distributes background information prior to meetings, allows for adequate response time when making requests, keeps parties potentially affected by decisions apprised of events.
Constructively contributes to the decision-making process of the work team and supports the teams decision.
Balances the time needed for accomplishing current work and achieving development goals and applies newly developed knowledge, skills, and experience to the job.
Contributes to the definition of the team’s mission, objectives, and strategies, accepts team decisions and works toward their implementation;

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree :
2 – 4 years relevant operations / distribution experience : Experience includes manufacturing or distribution environment, experience with financial modeling and analysis, exposure to materials and inventory computer systems, understanding of Abbott planning and distribution systems, some project leadership roles.
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.
Preferred Qualifications
BA, BBA, or BS preferably in supply chain, logistics or related field
Experience in healthcare industry preferably in a supply chain function

The base pay for this position is $56,700.00 $113,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
