As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will drive improvements in production of GPG Switches & Fuse gear, Electrification Smart Power (ELSP) in Senatobia, Mississippi. US Citizenship is not required as sponsorship is available. You will define the working phase sequence of a new production or established process in order to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget for ABB Smart Power division driving beneficial changes throughout the ABB facility. As a part of the Process Engineering team overseeing the standardization and lean based improvement initiatives for existing products as well as new products being brought in as part of ABB’s 200,000 square foot facility expansion. You will be also responsible for designing the specifications for testing equipment of existing and new products.

Production Development Manager

Your responsibilities

• Develop, configure and optimize both existing and new manufacturing processes from inception through start up and certification
• Perform process assessments, collecting and interpreting an array of measurements and data to determine the best solution
• Ensures appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance and materials/components in support of production targets
• Provide documentation of process, visual and quality standards, including fabrication of operating instructions where required
• Develop test specification for new and existing lines
• Develop test equipment specification for existing and new product introduction
• Implement Engineering changes

Your background

• Bachelor of Science degree Engineering or related field
• Entry level position
• Ability to read and create electrical diagrams
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma principles and other process related standards is desired
• Working knowledge of process engineering software packages
• CAD or AutoCad skills
• Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
• Experience in process simulations preferred
