Position Summary:

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Graduate to join our existing team within our Power & Industrial (P&I) Division in Cramlington, Northumberland. The successful candidate will work closely with our UK Finance team performing various ad hoc accounting tasks as required to provide support, as directed by line management, with the aim of expanding depth of knowledge of all roles within the Finance department.

Position Responsibilities:

As a Finance Graduate, you will learn and understand financial processes and methodologies. You will build skill versatility within different areas of finance, and you will get involved in a variety of tasks including:

• Performing various accounting duties including but not limited to preparation of VAT returns, CIS returns, intrastat, intercompany netting, interest payments and balance sheet reconciliations with the aim of expanding the knowledge of how the finance function operates.

• Learning, evaluating and developing AP processes in order to reduce time spent on UK supplier invoices through automation.

• Studying for any necessary qualifications required to develop the role. The successful candidate will begin by performing functions of moderate complexity which will gradually increase during their training period.

Please Note: International / Domestic travel may be a requirement of this role; therefore, a valid passport and the ability to travel is required.

Education, Qualifications and Affiliations

Essential

• Degree in a Finance / Business or relevant field.

Desirable

• AAT qualified, or exemptions from professional accounting exams with the aim of becoming fully qualified.

Experience

Essential

• Comfortable working on a number of projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of accounting terms and concepts.
• Understanding of finance principles.
• Awareness of the concepts of business strategy and methodology.
• Computer literate and able to learn a wide range of software packages.

Desirable

• Previous experience within an accounting function.

• Previous experience of working in a manufacturing/engineering company.
