A. W. Miller Technical Sales, a highly successful Machine Tool Distributor based in Harmony, PA, is currently seeking a CNC Manufacturing/Applications Engineer to provide exceptional support to our customer base in PA. The ideal candidate will possess a strong hands-on machining background with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Proficiency in 4th and 5th axis machining, along with programming in a CAD/CAM environment, will be highly valued. Experience with Mazak machines and Mazatrol conversational programming is also desirable. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently, exhibit excellent customer service skills, and possess effective communication abilities. This role will involve managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise: Utilize your extensive hands-on machining experience to provide technical expertise and support to customers. Assist with machine applications, programming, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance of CNC machines.
CAD/CAM Programming: Utilize your proficiency in CAD/CAM software to develop and optimize machining programs. Collaborate with customers to understand their requirements and translate them into efficient machining processes.
Machine Tool Support: Provide comprehensive support to customers regarding machine tool selection, setup, and operation. Assist with machine installations, upgrades, and maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
Mazak Machine Experience: Leverage your knowledge and experience with Mazak machines and Mazatrol conversational programming to deliver exceptional service to customers. Assist with Mazak-specific applications, programming, and training.
Project Management: Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
Customer Service: Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by promptly addressing customer inquiries, resolving technical issues, and providing training and support as needed. Maintain strong relationships with customers to foster long-term partnerships.
Travel and Training: Be willing to travel overnight for project assignments and training opportunities. Represent the company professionally while on-site with customers and provide technical support and training as required.
Requirements:
Hands-on Machining Background: Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience in hands-on machining. Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and best practices is essential.
CAD/CAM Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in programming using CAD/CAM software. Ability to develop efficient machining programs and optimize tool paths.
Mazak Machine Experience: Familiarity with Mazak machines and Mazatrol conversational programming is highly desired. Experience in Mazak-specific applications, programming, and troubleshooting is a plus.
Independent Worker: Ability to work independently, take initiative, and effectively manage multiple projects concurrently. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service orientation with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information and provide training to customers.
Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Attention to detail, punctuality, and self-motivation are essential.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel overnight for project assignments and training. Ability to represent the company professionally and provide on-site technical support to customers.
