A Virtual Peace Of Mind Hiring for Mental Health Virtual Administrator at Remote Full Time

Skycloud Mental Health is a telehealth psychiatric practice. Answering the questions is required. This is a fully remote position which may be 1099 or W2 but the applicant must reside in the United States. For the W2 role, preference will be given to those who reside in Oregon, Washington, Nebraska, Ohio, Alabama, or Florida, but anyone in the USA is welcome to apply. Those who are looking to work on an hourly 1099 contract basis may be anywhere in the USA. A successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess experience managing medical insurance claims, investigation and dispute resolution skills, and be able to build respectful relationships while discussing account balances and claim statuses with patients.

Responsibilities:

• Obtaining referrals and pre-authorizations as required.
• Providing advice to front desk staff when needed regarding eligibility and benefits verification for treatments, hospitalizations, and procedures.
• Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness, and obtaining any missing information.
• Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
• Following up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle time frame.
• Checking each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount.
• Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary.
• Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.
• Reviewing accounts for insurance of patient follow-up.
• Researching and appealing denied claims.
• Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.
• Setting up patient payment plans and work collection accounts.
• Updating billing software with rate changes.
• Updating cash spreadsheets, and running collection s.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years experience in medical billing
• Demonstrated ability to be successful in a remote or other highly independent role
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve
• Strong customer service skills
• Knowledge of and understanding of CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10 as related to psychiatry
• Familiarity with EMR systems/Medical Billing Software & 3M Encoder
• General insurance knowledge
• Detailed understanding of an EOB
• Payment posting experience required
• Denial follow up experience
• Understanding of credentialing/contracting and ability to communicate with contracting/credentialing staff regarding any outstanding items
• Experience with eligibility/benefit checks
• Experience with Availity, OneHealthPort, and various payer portals
• Be able to provide 2-3 references (must include at least one supervisor and at least one health care provider)
• Excellent written/oral communication skills
• Knowledge of HIPAA
• Ability to pass a background check
• Must be familiar with Athenahealth

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 years experience in behavioral health billing
• Experience with multistate and/or telehealth practices
• Experience or interest in working with LGBTQIA+ populations
• College degree
• Experience with Oregon insurance companies
