THE JOB

You’ll have to read/interpret work orders, blueprints, product specifications, special instructions, and follow verbal instructions to ensure orders are completed to the customer’s QA and delivery requirements. You will:

1. Set up and operate single-purpose manual and semi-auto machines/tooling/material for work-order production; perform minor machine adjustments and routine upkeep as required. Machine list includes lathe, mill, punch press, custom-built mechanical machines, rolling/bending.

2. Build, fit, assemble, and finish products/kits as instructed on work-orders, and within posted schedules.

3. Actively follow all QA processes for in-process and final quality control as per published standards and procedures; maintain QA inspection reports.

4. Actively follow all H&S Policies, Procedures, and Safe Work Practices.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We only hire good attitudes willing to multi-task and commit to whatever it takes to ensure customer satisfaction and overall continuous improvement.

You have a mechanical aptitude to use machine tools, hand tools, power tools, and air tools.

Previous experience in a machine shop or fabrication shop is considered an asset.

You’ll be able to read, write, and speak fluent English in order to comply with our QMS and HSMS systems.

You’re physically fit and capable of working to meet deadlines in a fast-paced steel fabrication environment.

You’ll be committed to working long hours (50-60hrs/week) during peak customer demand, and will join the weekly On-Call rotation to support our after-hours service (as competency level permits).

You’re comfortable working with a Windows PC for machine operation and job tracking.
