The Opportunity:

The Marketing Communications Executive is responsible for supporting and developing the positioning and promotion of the APL to B2B, B2C, internal audiences and external stakeholders in order to build, manage and grow its reputation and influence. 

You will work closely with the wider Strategic Communications team, and with the marketing, content and commercial teams to develop strategies and initiatives to grow and enhance the reputation and reach of the APL, KEEPUP, A-Leagues and its partners with target audiences.

We are looking for an organised, proactive and enthusiastic person with marketing-communication experience and a passion for sports. This is a hands-on, high-energy role in a small, agile team within a business that is focused on growth.

The Responsibilities:

• Support the creation and delivery of a proactive plan for the utilisation of our spokespeople and senior leadership to tell a powerful and consistent story aligned to APL strategy and purpose – defining when and where they should show up.
• Devise and deliver a media strategy with a focus on B2B and industry media (Tech, Media, Sports Business)
• Develop a strategy for and work with the Content team on the delivery of a LinkedIn strategy to help build and grow the reputation of APL with a commercially focused audience. 
• Be the day-to-day contact for the Head of Partner Success and Head of Sales, offering communications counsel on partner activations and issues – working closely with the media and PR team.
• Be part of the team developing the A-Leagues CSR strategy and initiatives, working closely with the wider communications team Commercial, Marketing, Community and Clubs.
• Seek and create opportunities to engage wider stakeholders in corporate and commercial communications opportunities to extend the reach of the initiatives. 
• Work with the Commercial team to ensure APL brand integration and storytelling opportunities through commercial partnerships. 
• Ensure consistency in the tone of voice across all APL, A-Leagues and KEEPUP output, aligned to our brand strategy and corporate narrative. 
• Work with the Head of Public Affairs to develop and deliver the APL Annual .
• Manage delivery of internal communications strategy ensuring a clear, coherent, strategically aligned messaging approach and appealing content shared in a timely way via a range of channels.
• Use internal communications channels to ensure our people understand the role they have in achieving both short and long-term organisational goals.

About You:

• Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a similar role.
• 3+ years experience in a communications role.
• Sports industry and corporate and commercial communications experience.
• Experience working in a commercial environment and delivering for commercial partners
• Excellent levels of professionalism.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of Australian football, and an interest in global football.
• Good judgement, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment.
• Exemplary relationship building and management skills.
• Demonstrable ability to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience tracking and ing on OKRs.
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive.
