A distributor and manufacturer Hiring for Financial Analyst/Accountant at Richmond, BC Full Time

Reporting to the Manager of Finance and Analytics, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial and sales variance analysis support, as well as data resource to support strategic, operational and financial decisions.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Assist with annual budgeting process including roll out of budget templates, assisting users throughout all locations with trend analysis and consolidation
• A key participant in monthly close variance analysis process. Identify significant variances to budget and prior year with reporting tools and communicating with accounting, sales, and Branch GM’s

• Perform customers’ profitability analysis and analyze impact of different pricing strategies on profit margins
• Manage manufacturing costings and substantiate the variances
• Assist in developing reports and FP & A for manufacturing plants
• A resource of sales and financial data to branch GM’s
• Perform Comparative and Trend Analysis; determining causes and correlations for company results
• Assist in month-end close and reconciliation
• Build and manage dashboards and month-end reports
• Assemble ad-hoc analyses for the management team as needed

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience with annual budgeting process involving multiple locations and users
• Sales Analysis experience including volumes, average selling prices, margin analysis, etc.
• Strong level of proficiency in Excel (Sumifs, Vlookup, Pivot tables, Charting). Proficient with Microsoft Word and Power Point
• Experience in working with large data sets to arrive at results that tell a story
• Excellent business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience (Executives, Branch GM’s, Sales Team, Operations)
• Experience in using ERP systems or budgeting software a plus
• Highly motivated, eager to learn, attention to detail, positive attitude, “sense of urgency” around key deadlines and tasks
• Proactive, dependable, and solutions-oriented

Required Training and Experience

• University Degree or equivalent in finance, accounting or a related field

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis and or accounting operations, preferably with a manufacturing and/or food distribution company. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered

Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
