Summary
Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Skilled Labourer selected will be responsible for the completion of carpentry work and quality management of a large multifamily build, ensuring the compliance with local building code and company safety policy. The Skilled Labourer is also responsible for general site maintenance and clean-up as needed.
Responsibilities
- Adherence to building code and corporate safety requirements on all sites
- Carpentry work that falls outside of the scope of work of subtrades
- Oversight of subtrade work
- Perform touch ups and repairs on subtrade deficiencies
- Perform frame checks and mechanical checks
- Finish carpentry work
- Quality management inspections and reporting
- Report issues as they arise to the superintendent
- Proficient knowledge and use of power tools such as air nailers, skill saw, screw gun
- Mentor novice workers
- Other tasks as required by the site foreman / site superintendent
Requirements
- Experience in finish carpentry is an asset
- Equipment operation experience is an asset (zoom boom / skid steer)
- Knowledge of building code and safety code requirements
- Be organized, interpersonal and strong communicator with the ability to build excellent relationships with subtrades and workers on site
- Candidate must have excellent time management skills, have the ability to prioritize work and be results driven
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong understanding of quality standards
- Highly organized, results-oriented and able to work in a multi-functional team environment
- Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
