About us
At UCL, we believe access to education transforms lives and society. As London’s Global University, we are committed to attracting and supporting a diverse and talented student community from across the world.
Our Student Recruitment and Admissions division is central to this mission. The Undergraduate and ITE Admissions Office manages over 100,000 applications each year across undergraduate, affiliate and Teacher Training programmes, admitting around 10,000 students annually. This work is vital in securing a well-qualified, balanced student body and sustaining UCL’s academic ambitions.
Joining our team means becoming part of a collaborative, high-performing environment where your work will have a direct impact on shaping our future student community.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Admissions Officer to play a key role in delivering undergraduate admissions at UCL, typically within one of our Faculty Teams.
This is a varied position combining operational responsibility with team leadership. You will manage and support admissions staff, ensuring high standards of accuracy, consistency and service throughout the admissions cycle. Alongside overseeing application processing, you will assess complex cases including fee status, contextual data and non-standard qualifications, working closely with academic colleagues to apply selection criteria effectively.
You will contribute to key points in the admissions cycle, including results day, and support wider recruitment activity such as open days and welcome events. The role involves regular engagement with stakeholders including applicants, UCAS, academic departments and professional services, ensuring a responsive and informed service.
You will also support continuous improvement by contributing to system developments, monitoring performance and helping to refine policies and processes to enhance fairness and efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to take the next step in a complex and rewarding environment.
About you
You will have experience working in higher education admissions, ideally within undergraduate or UCAS-based processes, and be confident operating in a high-volume, customer-focused environment.
You bring proven experience of leading or supporting teams, with the ability to motivate others and maintain high performance during busy, time-critical periods. Highly organised, you are able to prioritise effectively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
You have strong analytical skills and are confident interpreting qualifications and assessing applications against defined criteria, making sound and consistent decisions. A clear and professional communicator, you build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
Above all, you share UCL’s commitment to delivering an excellent applicant experience and supporting a diverse and inclusive student body.
