Job Summary

Sr. Application Engineer is responsible for conceptualizing and costing Fibracast solutions for the customer. Working closely with all Sales Managers. The Sr. Application Engineer provides technical support to convert opportunities into RFP, preparing proposals, and convert proposal into Purchase Order. 

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Sales Managers in planning and developing sales opportunities, support sales process, and convert opportunities into RFP.
• Conceptualizing and costing Fibracast MBR solutions tailored towards a specific Project RFP, perform system design and equipment sizing.
• Prepare proposals (budgetary and firm) based on the information provided by the customer and support sales coordinate if further information is necessary 
• Review specification for technical compliance requirement and prepare clarifications/exceptions log.
• Lead the bidding process, including cost estimation, obtaining appropriate quotes and proposal

development.

• Lead the hand-over process to project execution team upon receipt of PO. 
• Maintain documentation and tools required to support the business  
• Available to travel as needed (occasional) to support projects and Sales Managers with conferences
• Evaluate and analyze projects lost date to increase the success rate on opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior level Application Engineers.

Training and Skills

• Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Civil Engineering or equivalent education preferred. 
• Technical degree or diploma with relevant discipline and/or experience
• Minimum 5 years of related successful technical sales support or application engineering experience in the U.S. or Canada. Water/Wastewater markets experiences preferred.
• Knowledge of membrane treatment systems such as membrane bioreactors (MBR), ultrafiltration (UF) and microfiltration (MF) or reverse osmosis (RO)/nanofiltration (NF) is an asset. 
• Established history of successful sales support or engineering in water/wastewater treatment market is an asset.
• Apply knowledge of biological, chemical, and physical wastewater treatment processes to support accurate and effective system design.
• Strong presentation and communication skills. 
• Ability to work autonomously, self-starter. 
• Technical problem-solving skills. 
• Attention to detail and accuracy in design calculations, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
• Fluent in the Office 365 software (Excel, Word, Power Point) and GPS-X/BioWin modeling software. Familiarity with Sales Management Systems (Salesforce).
• A working knowledge of CAD
• People leadership experience is an asset but not required.
