Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Guard in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support access control activity, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence and strong communication. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through proper channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, entrances, exits, common areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry while assisting with visitor direction, policy reminders, and other security-related support functions.
• Work closely with site personnel, public-facing staff, and/or first responders when needed to address security-related issues and maintain orderly operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be able to provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
