Legal Aid Alberta is seeking to fill a full time, temporary (up to 12 months) Human Resources Administrator position in our downtown Edmonton office. This position will appeal to an individual that likes to take initiative, is client focused and is exceptionally strong with Microsoft office products.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Administrator is primarily responsible for providing a broad range of administrative support to the Human Resources team, including the preparation of various reports and presentations on key HR metrics. Some of the key responsibilities would include:

• Assisting with full cycle recruitment, including preparing and posting job competitions, managing the resume intake, and tracking and reporting the status of competitions
• Creating and maintaining scheduled reporting for, but not limited to; recruiting, labour/employee relations, training, attendance management, OH&S and employee performance.
• Coordinating and tracking of organizational training and development
• Providing assistance with the Occupational Health and Safety Program
• Updating and publishing organizational charts
• File management
• Updating Human Resources information on corporate intranet
• Participating in research, development and implementation of new or revised human resources policies, best practices and procedures/process maps for LAA.
• Providing support for client service delivery
• Participating in HR projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, or equivalent experience.
• Previous office administration experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Advanced computer literacy, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Visio and Adobe.
• Knowledge of modern and progressive HR practices, principles, legislation, standards and regulations.
• Effective working knowledge of Power BI and SharePoint.
• OH&S Act, Employment Legislation, Human Rights Legislation, Employment Standards and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Works well under pressure.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Strong initiative and action orientated with a sense of urgency to get things completed.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• A positive, “can-do” attitude with client focused approach
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with BI reporting.
• Experience working in Human Resources within a unionized environment.
• Occupational, Health and Safety experience.
• Experience in a professional services environment.
